Can I turn off the cuckoo calls at night?
Yes. Most of our clocks feature a manual or automatic night-time shut-off function. With the manual option, you simply flip a small lever on the side or bottom of the case. Clocks with automatic shut-off detect darkness via a light sensor and turn off the alarm on their own.
How do I know if my clock is "in sync"?
A clock that is in sync sounds steady: tick-tock, tick-tock—with equal intervals between each sound. If it sounds uneven, the clock is hanging crooked. Tilt the clock slightly to the left or right until the ticking sounds steady, and secure it in that position.
My clock shows the wrong time—what should I do?
Set the time by turning only the minute hand—and only forward. At every hour and half-hour, wait until the cuckoo has finished its call before turning the hand further. Never adjust the hour hand directly.
How do I care for the wooden case of my clock?
Clean the case regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using damp cloths, sprays, or chemical cleaners. Wood is sensitive to moisture and extreme temperature fluctuations—so do not hang the clock near radiators or in damp rooms.

Mechanical movement
How often do I need to wind my mechanical cuckoo clock?
It depends on the movement. A 1-day movement must be wound every day, ideally at the same time. An 8-day movement only needs to be wound once a week. Always wind the crown gently and evenly until the weights reach the top—never jerkily.
What happens if I forget to wind it up?
The clock will stop—this is completely normal and does not damage the mechanism. Simply wind the weights back up, set the time, and restart the pendulum. However, never let the weights drop all the way to the bottom, as this puts unnecessary strain on the mechanism.
My clock is running fast or slow—how do I adjust it?
You can adjust the rate using the balance wheel. Slide the wheel upward if the watch is running slow. Slide it downward if the watch is running fast. Small adjustments are usually sufficient—wait a day after each adjustment before making another one.
How often should a mechanical movement be serviced?
We recommend professional servicing every 5 to 8 years. During this process, the movement is cleaned, oiled, and inspected for wear. Regular servicing significantly extends the watch’s lifespan and prevents major damage. Please contact us or a certified clockmaker for this service.
The pendulum keeps stopping—why is that?
The most common causes are: the clock is not running true (out of sync), the weights have dropped too far, the pendulum is bent or touching something, or the movement needs cleaning. First, check the alignment—this usually solves the problem.
Can I oil the movement myself?
We do not recommend this. Using the wrong type of oil or too much oil can cause permanent damage to the movement. The cleaning and lubrication of a mechanical movement should only be performed by a professional. If you have any questions, please contact our customer service department.
Quartz movement
What kind of batteries does my quartz cuckoo clock need?
Most of our quartz clocks use AA or C batteries—please refer to the instruction manual included with your clock for specific details. We recommend using brand-name batteries, as cheap batteries are more likely to leak and can damage the movement.
How long do the batteries last?
Under normal use, the batteries typically last 12 to 18 months. If you use the night-time shut-off feature regularly and keep the volume at a moderate level, the battery life may be extended. Always replace all the batteries at once—never just one at a time.
The cuckoo isn't calling anymore—why is that?
First, check the following: Are the batteries dead? Is the night mode enabled? Is the volume control set to zero? In most cases, the problem is caused by one of these issues. If the clock still does not make a sound after replacing the batteries, please contact our customer service.
My quartz clock is running fast or slow—is that normal?
Quartz movements are highly accurate and should deviate by no more than a few seconds per month. If your watch is running significantly fast or slow, this may indicate weak batteries, temperature fluctuations, or a malfunction. Start by replacing the batteries—if that doesn’t solve the problem, please contact us.
How do I set the time on a quartz clock?
Slowly turn the minute hand forward and wait until the cuckoo has called at every hour and half-hour. Then continue turning. For quartz clocks with a separate setting wheel, you can also set the time more quickly—please refer to your clock's instruction manual for details.
Does a quartz clock need maintenance?
Quartz movements require significantly less maintenance than mechanical movements. The most important care tip: Replace the batteries in a timely manner and never leave dead batteries in the movement—this can cause corrosion damage. Otherwise, regular dusting and careful handling are sufficient.
How do I use the control panel on my quartz cuckoo clock?
Depending on the model, your clock is equipped with one of two control panels:
Simple control panel A push button for manually triggering the cuckoo call, as well as a three-position slide switch: HI (loud), LOW (soft), and OFF (disabled).
Advanced Control Panel A push button and three switch positions: Music ON (cuckoo call with melody), Music OFF (cuckoo call only), and OFF (all functions disabled). The volume is controlled using the volume button—pressing it briefly cycles through the volume levels.
